Serves as the farm base for training and research to support the company’s out-grower programme. This out-grower programme is designed to support HGL’s agro-processing activities with raw material (rice paddy). It is also expected to serve as the agro infrastructure for the agritourism business Irrigation A 30-million gallon ground reservoir has been constructed and an additional 70 million gallon reservoir is planned to be constructed by quarter four (4) of 2020. Equipped with two (2) boreholes producing about 50,000 litres of water per day.

Agritourism

The HGL agritourism business is primarily aimed at drawing more Ghanaians, especially the middle class, into farming, as a ‘cool’, fun and viable investment option using a crowd farming model. Under this initiative, the company develops an agric-estate and encourages people to invest in identifiable farm lots per season – just as they would invest in treasury bills but with the harvests as their return. The farm lots they invest in will be managed by HGL, which will cultivate the crops and provide all the farming services they need in return for a management fee. These seasonal owners and tourists can visit and stay on the farm at any time of their choosing and the company will ensure that their stays or visits are as enjoyable as they are memorable by arranging for them to explore the many tourist attractions in the Adaklu area such as the popular Adaklu Mountain and hiking trails which oversee the HGL farm.
